Picture Exhibition at RH

12. May 2026

Once a mill, a café, a butcher’s shop – today an inn and hotel: 1477 Reichhalter has never had just one identity. It has evolved as its guests came and went. This embedded practice of arriving, staying, and moving on is not merely history – it is the essence of the place. This is precisely where the exhibition “Durchreise” begins.

Created through the collaboration of Gerd Eder (photography), Tanja Schuster (hair and make-up), and Nadia Tschenett (styling), the series draws on the visual language of classic fashion editorials – while removing it from its commercial context. Fashion is not presented as a consumer product, but as a form of expression: a visual language through which physicality, belonging, and attitude are articulated and at the same time questioned.

Much like the Reichhalter itself, continually redefined by its guests, the figures portrayed appear as fluid states – passersby pausing for a moment. Present, visible – yet never fully anchored. Clothing becomes a temporary identity, shaped in transit and dissolving again.

In the interplay between staging and observation, a South Tyrol emerges that is not static or purely alpine, but permeable – shaped by tourism, mobility, and shifting influences. The landscape, too, is not merely a backdrop: like the house, it carries traces of time, use, and transformation.

The exhibition will be on view at Reichhalter throughout the month of May.
